Photographer's Note

Lovely summer day on the coolest streets of Stockholm.

Södermalm is an area with diverse architecture, great viewpoints , popular city parks and great stories to tell ( Stories by Gert)

Södermalm is connected to its surrounding areas by a number of bridges. Until the 19th century, Södermalm was mainly a farmland to support Stockholm. In 1860 Södermalm became a working-class district, until gentrification in the late 20th century. Some of the pre-industrial architecture remains above Slussen.

Must see:
The northern parts of Södermalm offer some excellent viewpoints with panoramas of the central parts of the city.
Beautiful churches: Katarina church (Katarina kyrka), Sofia Church (Sofia kyrka). Catholic Cathedral (Saint Eric's Cathedral), Maria Magdalena Church (Swedish: Maria Magdalena kyrka)
Museums: Stockholm City Museum (Stockholms stadsmuseum), Fotografiska (The Swedish Museum of Photography)
and the entire district :- ) This district is great.
