Photographer's Note

This is from Lappland in Northern Sweden. We spend a week canoing the Northenmost river in Scandinavia, the Laino. Stopped along the way and made some trips inland. The landscape is lowland by Swedish standards. This is the perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes. Usually you can escape them by going up the mountains, but here we had 'em all along and lost liters of blood to the little suckers.

But beautiful it is! I like this tree because it reminds me a bit of a japanese bonzai in a big, vast, wilderness zen-garden.
