Photographer's Note

The past weekend giving a return by the beautiful city of Salamanca and spending a a little bad day through the climatic thing, dedicates to me with my camera to gather the beautiful snapshots that this city provides. The cathedral at night is one of the photos that always it had wanted to have in my gallery and like no, to share it with you. Salamanca (city, Spain), city of the west of Spain, capital of the province homónima, pertaining to the community independent of Castile and Leon and located to borders of the Tormes river old Cathedral of Salamanca, catholic temple located in the city of Salamanca (Spain), one of the most beautiful samples of Romanesque the delayed one in Spain. Leaned to the new cathedral, impressive gothic temple of beginnings of the XVI, through average lateral ship, gives name which it is known (by the similarity in the plans) like the salmantino group of cathedrals Romanesque the Castilian-leonine one: Zamora, Toro, Plasencia and Rodrigo City. The works, begun surely by the head, began between end of century XI and beginnings of the XII. One is a temple of three ships, salient cruise and staggered triabsidial head. The supports start, like in the cathedral of Zamora, of a cylindrical socle, and their multiple columns gather the doublings of the vaults. In these the transit in the construction between gothic the most fragmented the románicas in excess vaults is noticed and. The doubled formeros arcs of separation between ships are pointed, which also announces, next to the certain complexity of the right feet, the first arrival of the gothic one. The inner appearance of salmantina the Fortis call is still of great sobriety and vigor Romanesque. It deserves to stand out between the reconocibles characteristics of this cathedral the tower of the Rooster, beautiful and impressive cimborrio, seemed to the one of the colegiata of Toro, formed by a double vertical order of hollows, articulated by manifold columnillas, and supported in circular small towers, with a covered characteristic stony very aimed in which it emphasizes the typical decoration of grudges. In the interior of cimborrio the columns extend in ribbings that reinforce and articulate the cupola. By the way the only work made in the image, is a cut of the right side because it had a black zone that was not worth for anything, and this way I have improved the composition.
