Photographer's Note
This is the final picture of a serie of three about “Recortes taurinos”. I have reserved it for the end because I think it is the better of all. The guy is making an “Angel’s jump” flying over the bull. I have tried this shot a lot of times, but I never had it all right. This one is good for me, because I was lucky to get it just in the moment that the guy is flying totally horizontal over the bull. I know this theme of bulls is very polemic, but remember one thing: THERE IS NOT BLOOD HERE. I could say that it is not a fight; it is a dance between a guy and a bull, just to enjoy the agility and movements of both. Please, see it like the thing it is: an action picture. I hope you like it.

Esta es la tercera y última foto que pongo sobre el concurso de recortes taurinos de Ávila del año 2007, la he tenido reservada unos días para no saturar con el tema, y para usarla como guinda del pastel, pues personalmente es la que más me gusta de las tres. Está incluida en el tema de TE: “Espectáculos taurinos”.
El recortador está efectuando un “Salto del Angel” por encima del toro. Tuve la buena suerte de captarlo justo en el momento más interesante: cuando el chico planea totalmente en horizontal sobre el toro.
Había intentado esta fotografía bastantes veces sin el resultado deseado, y por fin, este año he conseguido lo que quería.
Y recordad: en este espectáculo NO SE MALTRATA AL TORO, es un baile cuerpo a cuerpo, ni si quiera una pelea. Se que el tema de toros genera mucha polémica; pero nada más lejos de mi intención. Respeto a todo aquel al que no le gustan los espectáculos taurinos, y a estos les ruego que vean este trabajo como lo que es: una fotografía de acción.

Tienes razon para mi gusto tambien esta es la mejor, yo aunque no soy de tierra de toros si lo es mi mujer y en su pueblo de la provincia de Madrid sueltan los toros por la calle y tambien concursan los recortes son muy buenos, los de Arganda y tambien Chinchon.
Me gusta verlos y el ambiente pero entiendo muy poco.

Pues han merecido la pena tantos intentos, es realmente espectacular el momento que has logrado, has congelado una realidad muy dinámica, pero se aprecia bien en el modo en que el "recorteador" vuela literalmente sobre el toro. El hecho de que el toro se incline en la misma dirección del corredor del fondo equilibra mucho más la foto. Un gran trabajo, campeón. Excelente.

Buenos dias Angel.
El salto del Angel valga la rebundancia. Para los recortadores te diré que es una suerte muy compleja ya que además de un toro necesitan la ayuda de un compañero que incite al toro hacia donde estan ellos sin desbiarse, que ademas tambien lo has fotografiado sin saberlo, el chico de la chaquetilla azul (Korpa) que es uno de los mejores recortadores a nivel nacional.
La instantanea esta bien, con muy buen colorido, lo unico el POV que si en lugar de sacarlo desde atras, lo hubieras sacado de lado con la imagen de la fiera y el cortador, alucinarias, sería una foto de 200 puntos.
Pero los recortes como cualquier imagen muchas veces no se producen en nuestra mejor posición y hay que adaptarse y tu la has hecho muy bien.

hola angel, no es por hacerte la pelota pero esta foto se sale del tiesto en todo (definicion, color,el encuadre del momento , el post proceso ideal y la guinda, presentacion sencilla pero con clase) no tengo mas remedio que decirtelo aunque me cueste, con lo c..... que has sido conmigo. me la quedo, con esta vas a llegar alto.

No hace falta decir porque la foto tiene 55 puntos. Pero me extraña que pase por tan poco de las 150 visitas.
Eso al menos justifica que son visitas de "calidad" (son muchos los que votan).
Pero déjame decir algo sobre la foto: es un acierto por varios motivos. Pero piensa que no solo a nivel técnico, también enseñas esta para muchos desconocida tradición de un modo fabuloso.

Wow, I agree this is absolutely perfect timing! Very well framed as well, with the guy in the back slightly out of focus, you can tell the bull will head for him next. The compressed tele-perspective gives this a nice sort of abstract quality, the geometry of the composition becomes more pronounced because of this effect.

Uf! es un tiro fantástico, por su dinamismo, su gran sentido estético y su impacto visual. El salto del recortador es sencillamente impresionante, y lo has capturado en el aire con maestría. No me extraña que tuvieses que intentar varias veces esta toma, es muy difícil.
Y otro elemento que me gusta mucho de tu trabajo, es ver que no se maltrata al toro, un espléndido animal al que no me gusta ver cómo se le tortura en otros espectáculos. Aquí el recortador se juega el físico en una "lucha" física y estética, sin daño para el toro, pero con un alto riesgo para el hombre.
Es una foto magnífica, te felicito.

Asombrado estoy por la fotografía que nos muestras, la composición es perfecta, la luz impresionante, el fondo ligeramente desenfocado para aumentar la intensidad del primer plano y por ultimo el salto, es perfecto, tanto el del recortador como tu técnica para capturarlo, sinceramente amigo, estoy gratamente sorprendido por esta interesante imagen, creo que es de las mejores que has expuesto.

Angel, sin duda has capturado un momento increíble. Me encanta!! El muchacho esta perfectamente enfocado, el toro con su espalda musculosa muestra todo su poderío... y el fondo algo borroso nos sitúa en la plaza de toros. Excelente trabajo y mis felicitaciones por esta captura.
PD: aquí en Uruguay hubo una plaza de toros, pero solo funcionó 3 años hasta que se prohibieron las corridas (http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/South_America/Uruguay/South/Colonia/Colonia_del_Sacramento/photo425405.htm).

When I look at the tumbnail I had a estrange curiosity once for me the guy appeared to be with no legs, so I asked how did he do that? and the curiosity lead me to open the image. My God...! This is real the decisive moment Angel. What a great picture you have here. Technically it's very good and emotionally it's even better. The light over the bull's torso is amazing. I love bullfighting scenes (I always dreamed of photographing such an event) and your series is really good. Nothing much to comment here, you know it's a great shot...

Se que te consto mcuho trabajo tomar esta foto pero creoq ue valio la pena, es exelente en verdad, creo que es la que mas puntucion ha tenido y pues no creo que haya muchas palabras para esto, es perfecta, una de las mejores que he visto es impresionante en verdad, muchas felicidades tienes una exelente ojo y sabes como manejar tu camara.
