Photographer's Note

Monument viewpoint Columbus in Barcelona in the Port Vell. Constructed by Gaietà Buigas i Monravà for the Universal Exhibition of 1888. This characteristic monument of Barcelona is at the end of the Boulevard, in front of the sea. It represents the figure of Cristóbal Columbus, discoverer of the “New World”, indicating with his forefinger the direction of the Américas. The statue has 7 meters of height. It is acceded to the viewpoint by means of an inner elevator. The Vista of the city from the stop of almost the 60 meters of the column is really a spectacle.
