Photographer's Note
I don’t know why but for some reason I always thought that Jules Verne was an English writer. He is supposedly the second most-translated author in the world ranking between Agatha Christie and William Shakespeare, and as it happens, he is the most translated French author… Taking that into account I wanted to use in my title the French original title of the book which came to my mind while looking at this photo: Voyage au centre de la Terre (Journey to the Center of the Earth). The tale’s central figure, a scientist, believes he can reach the centre of the Earth via an empty volcanic tube. Does he succeed? You must read the book or watch a movie.
Well, maybe this is the reason why you must stay on the bus while visiting Timanfaya National Park. They don’t want you to fall in one of the secret portals leading to the underground world. This is another photo taken from the bus while on a coach tour through the national park.

Hello Mariusz, no, I have never read 'Voyage to the Centre of the Earth', maybe I will try it in the future.
This is another very interesting picture from your trip into this National Park.
The picture has an almost 3D effect on my screen, when I look at the sky, it is almost as if the clouds are moving!
Kind regards, Jean.

Wow, that's an impressive shot, Mariusz. Rough, almost extraterrastrial terrain and such a squeaky clean road! I can see why you linked this up with Jules Verne.
Congratulations
Benny

Hi Mariusz,
Very strange landscape showing rough boulders of volcanic rocks all around and nothing green. Variety of colours ranging from black to dark reddish brown to lighter earth tones is special.

Hello Mariusz,
A fantastic photo, it looks as though the narrow road directly leads into the crater of a volcano. The reddish tones of the rocks are wonderful and its textures are captured with superb sharpness.

Hello Mariusz,
Jules Verne was my favourite author when I was a kid. I devoured his books.
But the journey to the centre of the earth started in an Icelandic volcano and the adventurers were spewed back out by the Stromboli.
Perhaps the Canary Islands were not yet known as volcanic areas in his time... I once flew over the Stromboli on a flight between Catania and Rome. A great view with the smoke coming from the volcano but my camera was in my hand luggage in the rack.
It's a fantastic landscape where your bus drove through.
Fortunately, not the whole bus has disappeared into a secret portal.
The road winds like a soft carpet through a landscape full of rough and sharp rocks.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Mariusz
This road very much reminds me up the one up the volcano on Maui in Hawaii. A good photo with lots of good rock detail and colour.

Hello Mariusz.
Fascinating equally this other composition of Timanfaya, the truth that gives for a thousand and a photo, here the road gives a great perspective with those volcanic mouths above the slope, beautiful sky too.
Powerful colorful, with a splendid management of both the illumination, and the sharpness to see the details well.
Very good work I enjoy.
Have a nice day
All the best for you.
Luis.

Hello Mariusz,
Yes, I read the book as a teenager, when all journeys and discoveries were possible!!!
It's another fine photograph, taken though the bus window, revealing the variety of colours and shapes strewn all around.
To me, this resembles the refuse discarded from a mine or industrial site, some having been burned in the process!
The smoothness of the guiding road sets up a massive textural contrast between it and the surrounding debris.
It's a very well composed photograph.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
