A view of the main street of Castellar.
Castellar Viejo's strength is built on a steep hill slopes in the Natural Park Alcornocales, between the rivers and Hozgarganta Guadarranque, overlooking the reservoir and Forests Guadarranque its slopes, as well as Gibraltar and the Strait, just outside the present site of the village of Castellar de la Frontera, Cadiz province.
As its name implies, the Arab fortress built in the thirteenth century was in a border position, defending the Taifa kingdom of Algeciras.
Its floor is irregularly shaped and has a walled area with barbican, cubes, turrets and towers flanking square and round corner, some crowned with battlements. Highlight the entry towers, defensive elements such as access barbicans defending the castle, pierced with arrow slits and bend a door opened under a beautiful arch framed by another banked horseshoe.
From the small courtyard is accessed inside the village, with whitewashed houses and narrow winding streets filled with flowers. Among the buildings include the castle of the Counts of Castellar, with the main tower, City Hall and the Church of the Divine Savior, the baroque style. More like a fortress, where the castle would be the area of the separate military and civilian administrative area.

The picturesque streets of Andalusian villages and towns are always great to wander through. They also make great pictures like this one.
I love the passion of Andalusians to use many flower pots and plants to make their facades and windows more attractive.
This beautiful corner in Castellar shows a lot of flowers, pots and plants. You made great use of them to get a well balanced composition.

The small piece of window, which remains on the right part of the image, in my opinion you would have had to include it in the image, by shifting the aiming towards the right.

Hello Angel, Andalucia is one of the two regions I like in Iberian Peninsula (the other one is Alentejo in Portugal). The white-washed houses, cobble-stoned narrow streets are the main components of these two regions which is apparent in your beautiful photo. The light is also wonderful. Congratulations, Tolga

Buenisima la perspectiva de esta bonita calle, me encanta la combinacion de estas blancas fachadas con la abundancia de flores y plantas, hace realmente ideal el lugar.
Magnifico como has controlado la iluminacion sobre estos blancos, que no siempre son faciles de captar, con tan buenas texturas. El colorido es tambien ideal. Una imagen magnífica amigo mio.
