Photographer's Note
in the week of March 19th (the feast of San José) Valencia honors its patron saint with a spectacular fiesta called Las Fallas. The Fallas are huge paper-maché, cardboard, styrofoam and wooden sculptures which are built by competing teams throughout the year. They depict polititians and well known public figures. They are burned on the final night after a jury has judged them. The streets are decorated with elaborate lights like in this shot. I will post several shots of the Fallas in the coming days.
I have just returned from this exciting fiesta- will be back writing comments asap.

Hi Marialuisa.
Sure were nice days these when you were in Valencia.
Do you remember the name of the street.
Anyway, is a good beginning of new photos about Fallas.
Carlos.

The illuminations are strangely similar to the decorations that grace the streets of Calcutta during various festivals. Lovely image well done.

Hola Marialuisa, una foto colorista con luz propia de Valencia, la simetría y profundidad en los arcos de luz hasta el fondo de la calle donde se encuentra la protagonista de las fiestas "La Falla". Bonita imagen.
Un abrazo ........ Paco
