Photographer's Note
Is our happiness relative?
Well, after seeing this scene, an old, wet, poor old lady walking with difficulty in a public Garden of Madrid, I started considering myself a very lucky person. why complaining with the broken air conditioning or get sad because I don't have the money to buy that fabulous, state-of-the-art camera? :)
Some blame the political regime, the Society (whatever that might be) or even God for failing to ban misery from the world.
- It's true that the State exists to serve common good and it should try to work hard to eradicate poverty, although there's no such thing as a perfect regime.
- It's also true that if God exists and He is what religions say He is, He should be taking his part on the issue. That's why someone once asked to a friend, on a similar situation: Where is God? What did He make to help (her)?
His companion gave him an unexpected answer:
- He has made YOU.
:)
This photo was taken near the Prado Museum. I applied a focal B&W technique (True Color version on Workshop). Did I help this poor lady? no, I did not know how to. But every time I see this photo it helps me to remember that there's more in the world to mind than my own business.

Hi, Francisco.
I am not sure about this partiel desaturation...not sur at all...I would like to see original, color version in WS...but I stopped there, beceause is an original destauration...irregular desaturation...with rather pleasent effect...
Best regards. Grazyna.
