Photographer's Note
In Spain there are hundreds of village where lives less of 50 people.
Today I've listen that in the world there are now 6.500 millions of population and is Asia the continent what really grow up.
Meanwhile, Europe is one of the places where there are less births.
What I mean is that in a few years the future of many villages in Europe will be very difficult.
My village (really I don't live there, but for me is and will be ever my village) also has less of 50 population.
With the time, all these villages perhaps only will be broken dreams. Our memories will be lost, our childhood will be lost,...
Only the big cities will exist... Would be a pity.
I hope you like it.

Hi Carlos. Yes I've heard similar tales from the Italian countryside. You've framed a desperate scene very well. The note is good and helps us appreciate the shot even more. Good job Carlos.

carlos,
i ilike this original idea and great note too. i've never been to europe and thus it is really hard for me imagine the lack of population in the villages. in india even the villages are sometime crowded as the big cities encroach on them.
civilization is a funny concept, it destroys everything on its path, all it leaves behind is the memories which haunt us.
well done.

Once again you have given us something to think about. In the UK, as a small but over-crowded country, even living in a village is still often close enough to where the work is, so they are not dying for the same reasons. Many houses in the villages closest to the beauty spots are being bought by wealthier people as second homes for summer and week-end use. This is forcing prices up and making houses too expensive for local young people to buy. This means that "out of season" and during the week many villages are almost empty.
In your photo the network of wood and wire is symbolic of the dream catchers of Native American belief. When they are broken the dreams slip away.

Hola Carlos.
Abrazos,

In Greece there're many villages like that. So, we had the same problem as you. I appreciate your composition and your sensitive note. Very well done!

Hola Carlos,
your note sounds quite pessimistic...
In Germany people intend to go back on the contryside; less poluted and calm.
I like your view through the rotten gate, has akind of atmosphere where you expect someone passing by on a horse...
Feliz Navidad y prospero Ano nuevo

Hola Carlos
A very powerful shot to go with your note... I feel with you. I just met my Spanish friend and she told me of a most magical summer they spent in a tiny place when she was a child... it read like Gabriel Garcia Marquez... so I can imagine what it must be like for you... home is always home. I also think of our Budapest flat to be our home, where I was brought up and where my parents still live (and in fact, where my father lived his entire life!). Without that place, I would feel disoriented...
Your image expresses this disorientation, uprootedness very well and graphically...
Ciao and greeny later, sorry, am out...

Indeed very curious to bring all these elements together in a graphic view towards a moody cloudy sky, very symbolic focus this shot as intro to your note, indeed we all made our beds too well, forgetting to fill them up. Very Well Done, a perfect shot, Carlos.

Interesting theme ... and a good composition about lonliness in little villages.
In the area where I live now, in the mountains few kilometers far there are many villages so sall, and buildings are becoming weekend or holiday houses for people whose parents were born there, or also for foreign people that want to enjoy countryside in their free time

Interesante composicion Carlos...
