Photographer's Note

Patio de los Leones (Court of the Lions), Palacios Nazaríes, La Alhambra, Granada: the eponymous fountain in the foreground.

In a strange way, this photograph serves as a companion piece to my last posting from Ta Prohm in Cambodia. They are both UNESCO World Heritage Sites; they are both major tourist targets, but more significantly for this purpose, they are both empty. I quote from my last note, as it's equally valid for this image: "You'll notice that there's no one about. That's not down to painstaking work with the clone tool (!) but simply the result of going there out of season and very early in the morning." Not quite as early as at Ta Prohm, but we were at the entrance well before it opened. And it was worth it, on both occasions.
