Photographer's Note

Most of you will probably think this is one of the ugliest photos you have ever seen on TE. I agree that it doesn't have the beauty of a renaissance palace or a sunset over a green valley. But when I saw this wall I immediately found a strange kind of beauty in the colours, shapes and shadows of the various materials.

In my last photo the title "Maybe urban art" referred to the possibility that the strange wall was really intended as a work of art. This time the "maybe" of the title suggests that there were no such intentions but that the combined effect of the ugly elements could have an artistic value.

And someone actually seems to have had in mind to give this wall an artistic touch by painting some of the planks and adding a message. Even though I hardly know a word of Slovakian I get a rough idea what "dekriminalizacia marihuany" means.

Here is a larger version.

I saw this somewhere in Bratislava, Slovakia. Two more ugly walls from the same city can be seen as workshops. I like them both, whatever you think. ;-)
