Photographer's Note

I was at a celebration (I think Smederemska Palenka and correct me if I'm wrong), but I went out there with a Serb friend who is a boxing coach in Belgrade. He dropped me off with some of his friends, and other pictures will follow, but they were all strangers to me but they all took me in like i was an old friend. At one point we were in a hurry to get somewhere, and I really didn't pay much attention, but I said to my new friend hey man you guys grow some really big dogs around here. He looks at me and says, look again... This bear was "owned" by a group of Gypsies, obviously the bear was taking a well deserved break, but he was out there amongst thousands of people, look at his claws and the only thing the gypsies had to control him was that stick and the chain. Anyway I don't know what the bear's act was but I think if he got pissed off he could have done some damage. I feel sorry for the bear, he should be free, I don't know how the gypsies got hold of him unless they found him as a cub somewhere. I don't want to be judgemental as I can't even begin to understand the culture there. Anyway I hope you enjoy the bear.
Cheers
