Photographer's Note

Buila Mountains are located in the central northern part of Vâlcea County. In the distance, there are the highest peaks of the massif that can be seen: Buila (1849m altitude) and Vânturariţa (1885m altitude). Arnota Mountain (from where I took the picture) has an altitude of only 840 m and is formed of limestone. At his foot you can see a limestone quarry that had been worked for about 40 years and still functioning. The quarry offers a rather selenian scenery, by comparison to the firwood around it. After a slanting, difficult and dusty route, you can reach the top of Arnota Mountain that leads to the beautiful foundation of Voivode Matei Basarab (Prince of Wallachia) built between 1633 and 1636 - Arnota Monastery. Further away, you may only climb the sky!
I didn't want to miss seeing the whole landscape sitting on that modest bench near the monastery :)
