Photographer's Note
This monument have been build in 1923-1938 years and is dedicated to the Romanians soldiers who died on the battlefield from Marasesti in the first World War. On Marasesti died about 21.000 soldiers, in this war Romania lost about 1 milion people, soldiers and civilians.
Since May 4th 1920 the Romanian gouverment established that the day of Christ Ascension to be the Day of Heroes, when soldiers who died on the battlefields (for a good purpose) will be commemorated.
