Photographer's Note
One might think that an outdoor public park would shut down in winter and that it would remain empty until the thawing spring. Not so with Cismigiu Gardens. When the freezing winter months come, the lake turns into an ice skating rink, complete with small vendors selling food items, coffee, and boiled wine (vin fiert), a Romanian tradition to warm up on a cold winter’s day. Attracting visitors of all ages and from all walks of life, Cismigiu Gardens is truly the soul of Bucharest, reflecting perfectly the melting pot city and the many pleasures it has to offer.

Kia ora Ionut,
Great winter scene, something we never see in northern New Zealand. I like the splash of colour showing through the snowy rocks & trees. Cheers, Neil

Alo Ionut!
Multumesc for sharing a photo from Bucuresti, that was a rare sight! I just found out about Cismigiu Gardens yesterday because of the "Hotel California" cover of a nearby hotel hahahah!!! I will surely have a walk in these gardens when I go to Bucuresti in a month or so. Thank you so much for the tip!
Multumesc si buna seara, (That will do for a few days in your city right?!? Trying to learn some basics...)
PS. Hey, if you are around and up for it, I would be happy to take a photowalk with you while I'm there. That would be awesome!
Take care,
Fredrik
