Photographer's Note

The White Tower in Brasov is just behind me- it is the third time in five years that I climbed there to visit the interior but it was closed again. However it is situated high on a hill and has a beautiful platform some 10 m from ground level allowing for this interesting view. The city of Brasov lies below-a little to the right, the well known "Black Church"- actually a beautiful Gothic XIVth century cathedral that suffered a great fire in the XVIIth century and remained covered in soot for a very long time.Far from being abandoned, it is in constant work/repairs/rebuilding with brief interruptions since 1500.Next to the left the other towered building is the City Council Headquarters. In the distance you can see the Tampa mountain (oddly translated as "Stupid Girl") with a cable car and if you really squint you also see -next to the highest peak , a Hollywood-style sign reading "BRASOV"- the name of this beautiful city. The modern parts are towards South -West but this particular area is late medieval.rnTechnical note: This shot is taken using a Smasung A70 phone- not great by all means but with a very wide and luminous lens (and reasonable colors). No post-processing only straightening (yes it IS straight, locally, look at the hand-rail) and resizing. The horizon is leaning because it's the mountains and places be wavy.
Later edit: Lookie, sunstar! On a phone!
