Place : Vale do Peso - station of train

Region: Municipality- Crato / Parish- Vale do Peso,total population of 344 inhabitants (zone south – Alentejo - Portugal).

Theme: Railway Station in inland villages

March will be the dead line? This line will be closed forever...? I hope not...!
The progressive development way of life and the cosmopolitan concentration in modern cities are two of the main reasons to disabled tradition costumes.
That's what's really happening at railway stations all over the interior villages of Portugal.
The "Cáceres" line, was open in 1880 to connect Lisbon to Madrid. This line has two stations at "vale do Peso". This photo is an homage to portuguese railway heritage.
This picture shows how beauty are the rural railway stations. Every year they are less and less...
In the future only merchandise trains will role in this line. Sincerly, I hope someone could convert it to a touristic line.
We all deserve it!

Bonita esta imagem que aqui trazes, gosot especialmente do contraste azul vs amarelo patente na fachada do edificio dos caminhos-de-ferro. Esta coloração existe em mais 1s quantas estações e é bem bonita, boa nota também.

Hi Filipe,
The hard blue and deep red create a wonderful contrast to the softer colours all around. The sky and white building are not pushed away but make that the building with their blue doors are very good composed. Excellent detail and great sharpness all around. I am impressed what the Z740 can do in such a situation...really good work.

Sometimes, here in Greece too, train stations are really works of art! This is the case here, with this beautiful, colourful building! Simple but good composition, nice diagonal perspective and excellent light managmetn! Congratulations!

Olá Filipe,
Está muito bonita - escolheste muito bem o PDV, as cores e luz estão estupendas. É realmente um bocado triste que fechem estas estações e não deixa de ser irónico que estejam muito melhor conservadas agora, que o pouco uso que têm justifique o seu encerramento, do que quando tinham mais movimento.
Embora tal passe despercebido a um olhar menos atento, noto que a "sharpness" é algo estranha: na generalidade a foto parece nítida, mas depois nota-se falta de textura nas pedrinhas (brita), portas e folhagem. Chega a parecer que a passaste por um filtro anti-ruído.

Hello friend, thanks to visit my gallery and to allow me to know yours.
I observe your photo, and one comes to my mind memories from my childhood,when it visits my grandparents, and the passage was necessary to do it in train.
Whenever it arrived at a station, it was an event. The showy thing of this architectonic structure, the colors, their antiquity, their splendor through the time, establishes an excellent composition. Congratulations

Gostei de observar com atenção a tua fotografia. Particularmente o colorido que conseguiste obter, com os contrastes de cores amarelo/azul a criar um ambiente bastante interessante, quase como que de uma pintura se tratasse.

Noto algo de estranho em relação á imagem em si, após observar com mais atenção, parece que colocaste algum filtro na imagem que fez com que certas texturas ficassem algo estranhas. Refiro-me ás pequenas pedras nos carris e ao contorno da árvore.

Mesmo assim é um excelente tema, com uma execução bastante interessante!

É impressionante como este País (governantes) pensam e agem.
Estou admirado em não terem pura e simplesmente encerrrado a linha.. transformarem-na numa "ciclovia" é ecológico e soa bem..
constrituirem uma auto-estrada e um centro comercial...

Bom dia Filipe, então era esta a estação de que falavas. Bem bonita e é uma pena que estejam a desaparecer, mas acho que é um processo mundial inevitável. Apenas algumas linhas férreas no mundo que sejam considerados de interesse turístico irão ser mantidas. Ainda por cima, o combóio é o meu meio de transporte favorito... :(
Parece que o tempo também estava cinzentão aqui, mas o resultado está bom com as cores a saltar bem cá para fora. Tens que arranjar um post para juntar ao tema da nossa saída, ainda por cima sendo tu a personagem mais famosa do encontro até agora ;-)
Juntei mais duas ao post do Daniel. Obrigado pelo link. Ainda não vi, mas já vou ver as fotos.

Estação bem bonita esta e até parece bem conservada, especialmente os painéis de azulejos que parecem magníficos. As coressaõ muito bonitas também, espero que não a deixem cair em ruinas.Boa foto, com um bom pov e nitidez!

great station portrait, clearly presenting the beauty of this old building. one way to preserve the building after the line is closed would be to transform it into something else (i have seen a couple successful station -> restaurant transformations here in the US). of course, given the small population of the place, that might be infeasible.

back to the photo: an excellent observation well presented.

Hola Filipe, te escribo en castellano que es parecido al portugués, pero si prefieres otro idioma me lo dices ¿ok?... Me ha gustado especialmente el contraste de tonalidades tan vivas de esta vieja estación de tren, aunque tiene muchos años de antigüedad los colores parecen estar vivos. El POV es fantástico, formando una diagonal que da profundidad a la imagen. Elegante composición acompañada de un interesante introducción.

Magnifica estação , gosto muito destas velhas estaçõoes com azulejos , gostei muito do contraste entre o azul e o amarelo e o vermelho, a estação na diagonal ficou muito bem , parabens !!!!

Linda estação de trem! São azulejos decorados que compõem imagens nas paredes?
Fantástico! E sua tomada mostra muito bem toda a beleza do edifício e suas cores.
Na cidade onde moro, há também uma linda estação de trem desativada e aproveitaram o espaço para fazer um escritório de turismo.

I see the same happens in Portugal as in France to railway lines that do not earn enough money for the railway company, too bad this economic logic would lead such nice structures like this railway station with lot of Portuguese flair in it to decay, I hope some railway enthusiasts will create a nice railway heritage attraction out of it, in Switzerland it happened at various places and they are quite successful with it.

Wonderful photo of this lovely station and a very sad note. It seems to me typical to portuguese stations. a bit similar is also in Aveiro, I mean, with blue azulejos. And I like those yellow parts. I hope it survive somehow.

good diagonal approach of this quite attractive train station building. The colors used are extremely harmonic. I would consider revisitng the place with better light conditions as well some interesting cloud formation in the sky. It seems that you had q pretty dull light with overcast that compromises somewhat the presentation. Yet you did your best despite the adverse conditions.

Uma foto e uma nota cinco estrelas!
Um edifício destes valeria o seu peso em ouro, seria preservado até à última pedrinha, em países novos quase sem património (como os EUA) ou onde grande parte foi arrasado por guerras (como na Europa Central). É uma tristeza que em Portugal a única coisa que conta (quase) é o "progresso" e o dinheiro na faixa litoral ou grandes cidades.
Há uma coisa que me faz uma certa confusão: se o interior de Espanha (para não ir mais longe) não sofre de "interioridade" (Madrid fica a uns 600 km do mar, em Lisboa, mais ou menos), porque raio é que o interior de Portugal (a 200 km ou menos de Lisboa) há sofrer de "interioridade"? Raios partam os políticos que (des)organizam este país reduzindo-o à faixa litoral!
Perdoem-me o desabafo.

Olá Filipe,

Estas estações impulsionaram muito a industria de azulejos e é pena que muitas das estações estejam a desaparecer. Algumas estão a ser adaptadas por exemplo para hotelaria como o caso da estão de Cebeço de Vide.
A foto está bem enquadrada e com boas cores embora o céu esteja um pouco sobreexposto.
