Unfortunately the brown spots are real. There was an Azulejos cleaning and restoration operation going on in the São Bento Train Station on time when visited.
Those Azulejos are with enormous hight and big in size, and outside-light coming through windows that doe's not allow a good light management on painting's – but I thought it is worth posting. The tiles are the work of Jorge Colaço, a famous tiles painter who did many of the tiles panels of Porto.
