Photographer's Note
This is the qualifying race in the world championships of sailing held in Cascais, Portugal. This photo shows the 470 class sailing downwind in choppy conditions. I held the camera as close to the water as I dared in order to give a notion of the size of the waves. Works nice as a desktop pic.

i really the compose.. it's really nice..
but somehow it makes me think they are drowing...
or even sinking... but it's surely makes a desktop pic..

Hi Ricardo,
I love the artistic effect of this... a very original way of showing us the event, half-hidden, yes, but hidden by a huge presence of that sea that is the stage and the soul of the event.
Very interesting composition!
PS - I saw you on TV explaining all that stuff about sailing... you use that "for dummies" language so well that even I understood it... :-) now I know what "à bolina" means...! In english... I think it's "upwind".

Olá Ricardo, está um espectáculo esta imagem. Super-original, com este azulão tão atraente e as velas todas a espreitar lá atrás, tipo barbatana de tubarão, prontas a atacar. Sem dúvida que dá uma imagem de desktop/poster interessante.

Colocando desta maneira taon aparelho foto, obtens um efeito muito interessante e muito gráfico com as pontas das vagas que respondem às pontas das velas das embarcações. É realmente uma fotografia muito original.
