Wawel Cathedral – in full, the Cathedral Basilica of St Stanislaus and St Wenceslaus – is Poland's national sanctuary in the city of Krakow. It has a 1000-year history and was the traditional coronation site of Polish monarchs. It is the cathedral, and thus the mother church, of the Archdiocese of Krakow. The Servant of God Pope John Paul II considered being buried here.
