Photographer's Note
I have few more photos from Cape Verde which I would like to share but they are all in a similar bright sunny weather mood. At the same time, I have few fresh photos which I took on my recent short family trip to Poland. My first stop in Poland was where I finished last year, in Gdansk. Last year I intended to make a longer walk in Gdansk but the traffic jam etc shortened my stay in Gdansk old town substantially. I shared four photos from that walk previously here:
https://www.trekearth.com/members/mkamionka/photos/Europe/Poland/West/Pomorskie/Gdansk/
This year I had a bit more time to enjoy Gdansk old town, but the weather was rubbish. I hate taking photos on dark cloudy weather days like that. Anyway, I have now a mix of bright and happy photos from Cape Verde and dark and sad photos from Gdansk, so I thought I will alternate uploading them to have some change.
This view is certainly one of the most postcard-ish scenes in Gdansk. It looks amazing on a sunny weather day. In the centre of the scene, along the bank of River Motlawa, you can find an extraordinary silhouette of the medieval crane. It was completed in 1444 and it is the only this type of structure in Europe. This photo is an HDR of three exposures.

Hello Mariusz,
Reckon its a beautiful city, Gdansk, built on the water of the Wisla estuary.
Well managed with the relative good weather, contrasting tones and the attractive architecture. Here we see diff. styles from diff. era's.
My best regards,
Ike

Hello Mariusz,
You just have to be philosophical when you are on holiday and accept that this is what everyone else in the city was experiencing but you went a step further, recording it (with excellent clarity) for us to see.
You have revealed how the tall, mainly red-brick buildings are closely related to the river.
Despite the clouds, the colours are very well presented.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Mariusz,
One of the few major Polish cities I have yet to visit. Good sharpness and the red brick buildings contrast well with the blue grey sky. Tfs!

Hello Mariusz,
Oh, I'd love to visit Gdansk one day and this photo makes me want to go there even more! Such a charming view of the old harbour and its wonderful buildings along the water. You caught them from an excellent viewpoint and in a really good composition.

Pozdrav.
Lep pogled i trenutak, interesantan i dobar tekst ...
Lepi brodovi u luci i arhitektura na obali, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa oblacima koji dolaze i donose kisu.
Dobar rad, lepa fotografija.
Lep deo grada i stari jedrenjak.
Zelim vam sve najbolje.

Ciao Mariusz,A really very well processed HDR, without strong effects but perfect for improving the details and the light. Beautiful view from this port city in Poland, I would like to have the problem of choosing which photo to post, but without travel I am really depressed .. hahaha .. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

this is one of those marvelous cities we should to know someday. a marvelous view with many samples of local architecture. a city near of mine was founded by german immigrants before the II War and was named Nova Dantzig, during the war all the german, italian and japanese names were banned and New Dantzig became CAMBÉ. Anyway WARTA and ROLANDia survived with the same name, few km away.
take care

Hi Mariusz
Cloudy days can sometimes be useful to even up difficult light. Here you've laded up with good even light on all buildings with no deep shadows and so giving us a good view of this great old port that remains on my travel wish list.
cheers

Hello Mariusz.
Better this day with clouds, than to make the whole visit raining as it happened to me when I visited this city.
It is a wonderful city and specifically this point of the old port is fascinating for enjoyment and for photography, all that series of old buildings and the sensational crane, the old ship gives an ideal touch, which would be better if that ferry was not right at the side.
Great color that brings out the details of the image, the sharpness is excellent and the lighting is splendid.
Very good work. I like very much.
You have a good day. Very best regards.
Luis.
