Photographer's Note

For the first time I visited Wroclaw ZOO, the best zoological garden in Poland, two years ago.
I hoped to take a photo of Centennial Hall (in the background) which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with wild animals of the ZOO in the foreground. Two years ago, however this area was under construction. A modern pavilion was open soon after that, called Afrykarium, which is I guess a combination of words Africa and aquarium (I have this wonderful aquarium behind my back while taking this photo).

When I visited the same ZOO this year I got a second chance, I hoped in particular to capture some giraffes in the foreground. Sadly they did not want to pose with the Centennial Hall for me. I got some zebras instead...

This area is a fantastic destination for family trip. Behind the Centennial Hall there are now some dancing fountains, they were open week before my visit. On the other side of the ZOO you can take a boat trip along river Odra which will take you to beautiful Wroclaw Cathedral, located on a river island.
