Photographer's Note

The Passion plays which have been held here since the 17th-century during Holi Week (Easter) made Kalwaria Zebrzydowska famous. This blend of religious ceremony and local theatre re-enacting the most crucial days of Christ's life is performed by local peasants and monks who play the part of Jesus, the Apostels, Roman Legionaries etc, during a two-day-long procession
