Photographer's Note
Well, no one actually. The cost of this hand punted car ferry, when I came upon it in 1994, was exactly 0 zlotys, I wonder if it's still free. You really can't beat travelling with a good map, whatever form of transport you're using. On this occasion I was travelling by car with a friend, trying to follow back roads around SE Poland. This amazing ferry we found on a secondary road between Gorlice and Krakow. Despite the rather arduous job, the guy wouldn't stop posing everytime I pointed my camera at him, so this turned out to be the best one.
I've posted a workshop which gives a better picture of the ferry, with our car on it.
PP, just slight cropping.

Well, posing or not, he looks nice and the picture gives a good idea of how the ferry functions. The man in your workshop photo is really posing

I know those ferries... There are couple in the country where my parents have a holiday house.
It's nice to see a photo of well known object and area taken by a foreign person. Especially when it's not from an interesting, or historical site or some great landscape shot that could be taken everywhere...
I'm glad you've updated it Richard!
It's good, daily life image. Well done!

Very much in TE spirit, Richard!
I didn't know there were free ferry services - thank you for the note. Together with your WS picture it really is very informative. Well done!
