At 5 a.m. I was in the deck of the ship and took this photo.
Fjords are wonderful. Their deep sea water is surrounded by towering cliffs and glistening waterfalls. Snow covered peaks dominate the horizon. Seagulls usually follow the ferry as you cruise along. Fjords are part ocean, part mountain, part waterfall, part forest; but all beautiful. They seem to belong to a fantasy world, as if they were formed long ago in a time of trolls...
Situated in southwestern Norway, northeast of Bergen, Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord, set 120km from one another, are part of the west Norwegian fjord landscape, which stretches from Stavanger in the south to Andalsnes, 500km to the northeast. The two fjords, among the world’s longest and deepest, are considered as archetypical fjord landscapes and among the most scenically outstanding anywhere. Their exceptional natural beauty is derived from their narrow and steep-sided crystalline rock walls that rise up to 1,400m from the Norwegian Sea and extend 500m below sea level. The sheer walls of the fjords have numerous waterfalls while free flowing rivers cross their deciduous and coniferous forests to glacial lakes, glaciers and rugged mountains. The landscape features a range of supporting natural phenomena, both terrestrial and marine such as submarine moraines and marine mammals.

Hi Leonor,
This is a pleasing, first rate composition with much mood and soft textures and colours. I am impressed with how you resisted any temptation to sharply contrast the scene, as that may have destroyed its artistic integrity. The clouds floating in mid-frame are most enhancing and the entire scene as a dream like appearance, as if one is waiting for an impending natural event. Very impressive work. I like it.

Que maravilha estas nuvens atravesendo na frente das montanhas. (embora a foto nao seja do brazil lembrei me logo de uma cancao brasileira que houvia em crianca).
Uma simplicidade maravilhosa os montes tao grandes e as casas tao minusculas a direita mas ate da a impressao que os montes protegem as casas.
Otima composicao com lindas tonalidades e um enquadramento fantastico.

Great scenery! Beautiful northern colours and snowy mountains. I've never seen Norvegian fjords from the vessel, from the land only. This view at Geirangerfjorden may be will be interesting for you.

Mornings do give you a nice light to shoot in. Very interesting note. Looks like it may have been a bit chilly- no?

Very nice, Leonor, the mountains look very majestic, particularly being above some of the clouds. It looks a lot like Alaska, which is not a surprise. Maybe for this image it would have been better not to include the little bit of civilization at lower right, but others would disagree. It's a nice exposure that works for both clouds and mountains. Bonjour Léonor, je vois non seulement que tu parles français mais qu'en plus tu connais bien Paris !
Dommage que tu ne proposes pas de photos de cette ville, tanpis je me rabats sur une photo norvégienne, très belle, malgré une légère pixelisation qui est due a je ne sais trop quoi, si c'est le mélange neat + sharpen ou scan ...
Malgré tout c'est très chouette et c'est une admirable vue, froide mais ou une grande place est laissée a la nature.

Olá Leonor,
A repetição das montanhas e das nuvens inferiores dá um efeito que adensa o aspecto misterioso do fiorde.
A Noruega é talvez o país mais cénico que vi (talvez juntamente com os alpes austríacos e a ilha da Madeira).
