Photographer's Note
I have realized that I haven't uploaded a BW shot for months, so today's papagolfade is in B&W, this is the neoclassical Elleboogkerk (Elbow church) which is also known as Onze Lieve Vrouwe Hemelvaartkerk (the church of Our Lady's Ascension) of 19C (1820) which is (or, more precisely, was: see below) located in the Dutch town of Amersfoort, on the Langegracht canal. The church was functional until 1963, after which it housed several museums, in particular, since 1998, the collection of Dutch painter and sculptor Armando.
Now comes the sad part, roughly a month after I took the shot, on 22 October 2007, the church, and the art collection inside, have been destroyed by a fire of an unknown origin, the tower collapsing shortly afterwards... I haven't been to Amersfoort after that so I can only imagine how it all looks like today.
ISO 400, the shot was made in the evening...

Hi Alekasander,
Well seen this composition, good place for the church and its reflections on water, good choice of course for the vertical format, nice result with B&W because i imagine that the sky was a little white or grey.

Hi Alexander,
Perfecta composición y buen tratamiento de blanco y negro. Me encanta la calidez y la serenidad de la parte reflejada. Muy poética.
Saludos,

Hello Alexander,
A good well balanced composition with pleasing juxtaposition between lamp, church and reflection. The black and white conversion is excellent with good tones and clarity. Sad to hear about the fire.

Hi Alexander,
the b/w version is very well chosen here to reduce the impact of a not really appealing bright sky. Thanks to the vertical framing, the sense of depth is very good and the reflections are attractive. Well done!
Tfs and best wishes.

Fine vertical frame. Superb B&W mode makes this photo like an old post-card.

Awesome B&W, Alexander!
How nice to see a real old fashioned ALL DUTCH view. No cars, no streetsigns, none of that stuff... just a wonderful 2007 picture that could have been taken in 1910... Top notch!
Terrible to hear that church and art collection were destroyed by fire!
Have a great sunday, I'll see ya around.
Ciao,
Fulvio.

Hallo Alexander,
Mooie plaat uit Amersfoort en zeer sterk in de compositie wat waarschijnlijk ook door het zw gebeuren gestalte wordt gegeven...sterk punt.
Groet, Henk

Hi Aleksi,
so, this is a real melancholy shot, pity that the place burned down...so now this shot has a new value I suppose...very nice BW with the reflection, quite sad atmopshere...
Take care, Ivana

Hi Alexander
Good tonal range, sharpness, & contrast, in this superb b&w image. A nice reflection in the canal, with good lead in lines, & perspective, added by the banks. Tfs!

Hello Alexander,
I just prefer to comment this nice b&w picture and not take part in the yellow vs red discussion :o)
Your composition is good and you nicely used this vertical format to capture the bell tower and its reflection. The curve of the canal is well placed to enter the image.
Have a nice day.
Best regards, Christian

It is a beautiful picture and a very sad story. The building can be re-constructed again but the art work can not be replaced. Since the church does not exists anymore the B&W became very appropriate giving the feeling of an old photo. Well done.
