Photographer's Note
Willemsbrug during a dark afternoon. This bridge was designed by architect C. Veerling, and was build in 1991. It connects the city with the Noordereiland (Northern island). From this bridge you have a stunning view over the river, the other famous Rotterdam bridge: the Erasmus, and the harbour cranes further to the west.
I cross this bridge every day, and every day I enjoy it very much, the wind is nice and the view is terrific. Another picture (heavily post-processed) of the Willemsbrug can be found here on TL.
There is a bit blurry part, probably because it's taken through my window.

Hi Rini. Nice and atmospheric pic. I like the asymm compo suggesting that this sturdy bridge has only one pylon like it's more famous neighbour. Special detail is the half mast flag. There's a slight loss of detail - but that's the NeatImage noise-detail trade off. Well seen & done!

Dergelijke bruggen spreken al jaren tot de verbeelding voor veel mensen, de pijler moet de brug dragen en deze is als hoofd doel in beeld gebracht, de draden zijn mooi zichtbaar ondanks het donker weer.Goed werk Rinie.

Wonderful composition indeed - the vibrant red of the bridge outstands lovely on the background of the moody dark sky, and those lines of the wires coming down from it are just magnificent. I like your suitable framing too. Very well seen and captured!

This seems like ideal light for showing this bridge. The light falling on the wires better than they normally might and the red against the dark sky offers a good contrast.

Ik wist het Rinie ik had hem vanmorgen vroeg al gezien maar had toen nog geen punten, vandaar
Je mag wel geld gaan vragen aan Opstelten voor de promotie van Rotterdam, want laten we eerlijk zijn, zulke foto, zijn toch een stukje promotie, Ja toch. Uitstekende compositie, zonder meer met hele goede kleuren, goed werk.

There was great lighting for this shot. The sky is great. I really like those dark skies when the sun lights them from the opposite direction. And here the red tower makes a great contrast to the sky. It really helps it stand out. The cables of the bridge also have nice plays of reflection making them more and less visible in different areas. And the buildings in the back are equally nicely lit and stand out against the sky. Very nicely photographed. The trees make a nice addition for framing and depth. Great job, Rinie.

Dramatic colors Rinie with sun washing the bridge with that threatening sky in the background. And you know I would love all those lines from cables supporting the bridge's span. Wonderful colors and details, this is a fine image. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

J'adore ce genre de photo où lez zones éclairées par le soleil contrastent avec le noir d'un ciel menaçant. Il n'est pa touours facile de choisir les bons paramètres pour que la photo soit réussie comme cellle-ci, bravo.
