Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
This is a piece of art by DONALD JUDD (1928 - 1994) made in 1969 displayed in the Kröller-Müller Museum of Art in Otterlo.
It is 12,5 × 175,5 × 21,7 cm, made of brass and is unnamed.
As a piece of art, I didn't really understand it but as a photographic opportunity, I loved it. It provided a great sense of perspective, with different textures and some distorted images.
As I workshop, I will post the image of the art from the museum catalogue so that you will be able to see it from a front view.
I hope you like it , too.
Enjoy your week, Bev :-)

Very difficult to understand, Beverley, but I will not try... things like this in a museum do not even catch my attention.
But, I see what you tried to do, some unusual mirror from the brass - but it was too small item to get it right.
Pity, but anyway always good to try.
Have a nice newq week,
Ike

HI Bev, today is your birthday and this photo seems almost a metaphor for life, yours, with faded memories on the right up to the maximum details of the current reality on the left. I hope you like this interpretation, a brilliant photo with a very useful WS to understand better. Happy birthday and congratulations for the very original composition.Luciano

Hello Bev,
I usually don't bother to try to "understand" a work of art. If I like, for instance, "a great sense of perspective, with different textures and some distorted images", that is all I need. Some artists' vivid imagination have given me some of my greatest experiences of art, even if I didn't have an idea what I saw. You used this "strange" piece for a very good composition of diagonals and reflections in the surfaces facing different directions.
Best regards,
Gert

Bonjour Bev,
Tu as fait du beau travail pour nous offrir cette pièce d'art sous une perspective différente toute en ligne de fuite avec des flous parfaitement déterminés à la prise de vue.
Amicalement

Hello dear Beverley,
Thank you for another photo from Kröller-Müller Museum. I like it there so much!
I read the previous comments and I don’t think you need to “understand” abstract Art if you let your imagination go and it doesn’t have to have a meaning as long as it generate any feelings or any kind of emotion. Then the Artist succeeded to reach his target...
“Everyone wants to understand art. Why not try to understand the song of a bird? …people who try to explain pictures are usually barking up the wrong tree.”
— Pablo Picasso —
Hugs for your special day! :)

Hi Beverley, you are quite right, the catalogue photo does not excite the senses! You have used your imagination to create a much more interesting viewpoint.
In the thumbnails I was reminded of a telescope.
I like the reflected light on the far left, then we get a glimpse of the interior of the museum, before we see you?
This sounds like an excellent museum. I must visit the next time that we go to Amsterdam.
Kind regards, Jean.

Beverley, original artwork seen in this museum. The series of half cylinders and the material used create depth, perspective, reflection and illusion. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.
