During my wait on the sailboats took I this lighthouse, with boat and bikers.
Along the light tower is a wonderful bike route with sight on the North sea, but always much wind.



History:
The Breskens lighthouse is the oldest surviving cast iron lighthouse in the Netherlands. It consists of an eight-sided body with a balustrade, and a light house with dome and turn light. The tower, officially called light industry Nieuwesluis, was built in 1866-1867. This to a design by the Dutch architect Quirinus Harder. In 2011, the lighthouse was decommissioned. threatened breakdown. But the monument recently restored thanks to the efforts of the Foundation Lighthouse Breskens.
On July 3, 2015 opened the lighthouse of Breskens festive for the public.
