Photographer's Note

Located close to the Erasmusbrug and the Rotterdam city centre, de Leuvehaven is the oldest dug harbour in the city. It was completed in either 1608 or 1609. In the 1940 bombing of Rotterdam, all buildings around the Leuvehaven were destroyed. The quays are now home to several museums, including the Maritime Museum Rotterdam and the Harbour Museum. The photo was taken around 9.15pm on a sunny and warm evening.
