Photographer's Note
The next village West of Haarlem: Bloemendaal, a village, you have to visit if you like the old rich. (the nouveaux riches live east of Amsterdam in Het Gooi)
I took this picture from the highest dune of the Netherlands, Het Kopje van Bloemendaal, which is 45m high) On the top there's a observationtower, built by the Germans in the Second World War.
From this tower, I took this picture on the a day with changing weather, but it was a rather bright day and on such days you can see the Harbour of Amsterdam, which is about 20km from Bloemendaal. The harbour of Amsterdam is the second biggest in Holland, after Rotterdam. The harbour is connected with the North Sea through the Noordzeekanaal (North Sea Channel).
Behind the first trees you can see the village Bloemendaal. Behind the wood, you can see Haarlem-Noord. The stadium you can see in the middle is the Pim Mulier Stadion and here is every summer the Haarlem Baseball Week. (and I live in the quater next to this stadium).
In the background you can see the harbour of Amsterdam, with among other things the Hemweg Powerplant (the smoking chimney in the middle).
Right of the last chimneys you can see the office-buildings of Amsterdam Sloterdijk, I showed you the railwaystation there.
Between Haarlem and this harbour, you can find the Waarderpolder.
If you have any questions about other buildings on the picture, just ask.
I cropped this picture a little bit and increased the colours, hope you like it!

Nice panorama-like view with good overview. Quite unique in a flat country like Holland.
I like the warm colours and the contrasts (especially the bright white colours of the fabrics and chimneys on the horizon)... and the compostion; there is so much the see (some red roofs, a hidden church or castle, or what is it? ). First I thought, why didn't he crop more, but now I understand.
Good information too!
Only a shame that there is a bit of noice in the sky. Nevertheless: good photo!

Hej Lars, what a funny picture. The castle in the left-hand corner looks like it was pasted onto the photograph, though I'm sure it isn't. Very nicely done!

Bonjour Lars
first time I see Amsterdam so.
nice panorama with dutch painters colorfull.
On part des premiers plans "écologiques" pour arriver une barrière lointaine très industrialisée, un peu effrayante...

But this a honour to me and a great consideration like you in past make a important comment to me. I don´t forget and truely I respect your previous opinion and comment. I was new like you here, I'm also old in relation to you but you have the words to tell that my old post was not in the spirit of this great WEB. So, my great consideration and help now to your increasing and positive work. This post is very good, some situations are much better and this is one of your best. Sincereally my opinion and thanks for your greatfull insight and note in the beginning of our entry, and posssible for the next work for both. Congratulations!

Hi Lars,
This is my new favourite in your collection. Colours and balance between the sections are very good - especially considering that it is a poulated area with industries in the background.
Any ideas on why there is some noise in the sky?

Bonjour Lars,

Bien rendu !

Interesting layers, from trees to the sky... It works well even if you're maybe a little far away. The smokes create contrast and are useful.

Not very easy to see the harbour, but the trees in the lower half of the picture are very nice, with the small hosues hidden here and there. Excellent sharpness.
All the best,
Emmanuel

lars
a general view of the town and even at distance we can see many details like the chimneys, windmills, buildings, etc. we can understand why this place was used for vigilance.
