Amsterdam, We Are Proud - Canal Parade.
forse gli organizzatori del Gay Pride di Amsterdam dovrebbero cominciare a pensare ad un altro periodo per la sfilata annuale lungo il Prinsengracht - non credo di aver preso mai tanta acqua per fare delle foto come ne ho presa oggi... pioggia, nubi basse, poca luce, vento - per fare degli scatti decenti bisognava fare i salti mortali.
eppure, nonostante il tempo remasse contro, i cittadini di Amsterdam hanno assistito in massa, come ogni anni, alla Canal Parade. oltre 60 barche allestite hanno partecipato alla sfilata - colorate, stravaganti, modaiole, impegnate, sfacciate, pacchiane... di tutto di piu'.

I strongly advice the organizers of the Amsterdam Gay Pride to start looking for a different date - it rained so much today that only the citizens of Amsterdam could endure such a foul weather. I got soaking wet trying to take a few pictures and I had a hard time setting my camera, what with the rain, the low clouds, the lack of light and the wind...
notwithstanding the weather, this was one of the most crowded Canal Parade I experienced - until the very end, after more than 60 boats. and as usual, all kinds of Gay/Lesbian/Transgender associations were there, as well as political parties, VIPs, corporate representatives, army, police, public transport... you name it.
in the WS you can see a section of the Prinsengracht during the parade - and the Prinsengracht is not the shortest canal... :)

Hi Cristina,
this is an interesting capture. What makes it so interesting is the POV and the relatively monotonous colours of the background whereas the person standing in the FG is so colourful!

PS. who knows, maybe, after looking at your photo and reading the Note, the organizers of the Amsterdam Gay Pride will really change the date of this event? ;-)

I thought it was taken in Rio de Janeiro! Interesting attitide and colors on a dull grey background. I would have killed the half man on the left (by post processing, of course!)

That's funny. I didn't want to open the thumbnail; thinking: a young and beautiful girl, half naked... that's too easy, eye-catchy, lurid, in a way... but I finally opened the thumbnails and you know what? I like it! :)
More for the expression of her face, eager to enjoy life, with her eyes closed like in a sensual humility, than for her languid and victorious body attitude. More for the angel wings shape of her costum than for its vivid colors of carnival. But I like it.

colorfull ! I like the work on the colors here, with a sort of desaturation of the background which enhance th blue and purple ... She seems like a bird trying to fly ...

großes Farbspektakel. Die Positionierung der Dame auf die linke Seite ist wahrscheinlich völlig richtig. Regnerieches Wetter macht aber auch, wie ich finde, sehr schöne Pastelltöne. LG, Frank

the parades are back, the last showcase saw angiezska banned from TE, so please be careful cris, i know there is a fine line between reportage and "apparent porn"..
i like the start to this with the colours and well the pink, seems it will around for long, vibrant, shooting outdoors, well that is where photography started..
will be interesting to see how your style with this series
