Photographer's Note

My first shot on Trekearth :)rnYesterday I visited Rotterdam, the city in which I livedfor 2 years, 40 years ago.rnIn the centre of town lots of tourists were admiring the "Markthal", I am sure you have seen many pics of that landmark.rnNext to that are the "Kubuswoningen", houses built like cubus. My eyes fell on this row of postboxes. rnOn many occasions a postbox is only photographed when it sits on a post in a garden.rnObviously not in this case. The beauty lies in the way all these hatches are spaced regularly and of course the variety of the colours.rnI found it a challenge to make this photo at all, because the plane that is visible was not right in front of me but quite a bit higher.rnrnThe sticker you see on the hatches are so called "Nee-Nee" or "Nee-Ja" stickers.rnYou'll find them on many dutch postboxes. They are expressing the wish of the residents to not receive any printed advertising (first "Nee", translated as "No") and whether the residents want to have the local free newspaper delivered at their doorstep ("Ja", meaning "Yes") or not. rnrnShot with a manually focussed lens. Could have been sharper if I would have focussed on the text between the "Nee" and "Nee". That text is so mundane, that I totally forgot about it when shooting. Only when zooming in on my PC screen I saw it was a bit out of focus, but still readable (for a dutch native speaker
