Photographer's Note

The Netherlands is well known for being a country full of bicycles. When I stepped out of the railway station in the city of Delft I happened to get out the wrong way and had to walk through a huge parking area for bicycles. I have rarely before seen as many bikes in one place, in most cases left there for the day by their owners commuting to their jobs or schools in the nearby larger cities of Rotterdam or The Hague.

In a workshop you can see the sight that first met me, before I started looking around for people. Those who prefer real postcards can take a look at the other workshop with a glimpse of what Delft "really" looks like.
