Photographer's Note

The main crossing point to the south of central Amsterdam, the Blauwbrug ('Blue Bridge') is thought to take its name from the colour of its wooden predecessor, which spanned the Amstel River in the 17th century.

At night, the bright spotlights highlight the structure's ornate stone decorations, the design being created for the 1883 World Exhibition.
