Photographer's Note

View on the "Corniche", Luxembourg-city, Luxembourg.

Part of "skyline" of the old quater of Luxembourg-city, shot from a viewpoint at Bd. Gén. Patton. The picture was taken in the early morning, where you have the best light conditions.

This row of buildings is placed at the so-called "corniche", one of the nicest (and most touristic) roads in the old town. It leads where in older days was situated the city-wall above the Alzette valley. Since the forteress has been dismanteled, those walls have disappeared, thus giving free a wonderfull view over the valley. The corniche is therefore sometimes refered to as one of Europe's prettiest balconies.

A small "insider tipp": in the center of the picture you see a tree. Just underneath that tree is situated a very nice small terrasse, which s part of the Restaurant "Breedewee" and offers nice meals to complete the wonderfull view.

Framing and some minor changes with the new Photoshop CS3 beta.
