Luxembourg Skyline
I took this photo of the Luxembourg city centre (Ville Haute) while descending the winding footpath which leads from the Kirchberg plateau down into the Pfaffenthal valley. The Kirchberg offers a good view of the Ville Haute (or Uewerstad in Luxembourgish). The towers in the photo belong to the Cathédrale Notre-Dame (at right) and the Palais Grand-Ducal (in front of the cathedral), and the Église Saint-Michel (at left).

Hej Lars,
Detta är en riktigt imponerande vy av de stora byggnaderna som står tätt tillsammans ovanför den mörkt gröna förgrunden. De varierande pastellfärgerna och de strama linjerna gör ett elegant intryck och de många tornen förtar delvis den lite tråkiga effekten av den molniga himlen. Det är en snygg komposition i panoramaformat och väldigt väl exponerad.

The composition is well divided, the sky, the buildings and the trees. The point of view is showing the details if the buildings. The cloudy sky does not hurt the colors output. Have a nice day.

Wonderful skyline seen from an elevated viewpoint with the eye popping classic buildings as strong focal points. There's lot more interesting features - especially I love the charming pastel colours and the lush verdant foliage to counterpoint giving that extra punch. Splendid capture

This is a very attractive skyline of tall buildings interspersed with square towers, pyramids and tall, pointed spires.

Goedenavond Lars,
U heeft uw foto mooi in drie horizontale delen verdeeld.
Groen in de voorgrond, wat men in een stad niet zou verwachten.
Het architecturale gedeelte maakt uiteraard uw foto heel aantrekkelijk.

Hallo Lars,
Indien ik me goed herinner, is het stadscentrum (gedeeltelijk) omringd door een langgerekt park in een diep dal. Misschien zien we hier een deel van dat park ...
Alleszins hier een prachtig zicht op de gebouwen dicht bij elkaar gebouwd in de Uewerstad en in contrast daarmee de ruime groene zone.
Het is een prachtige voorstelling van de Luxemburgse skyline.

Very pleasing overlook on your unmissable cityscape stretched over so much greenery
All the subtle colors on the outside walls will remain intact for many years to come because the trees purify most of the city pollution.

beautiful panoramic view of the city. The sky is not in my faviourite color but the outcome is nonetheless very impressive.

my only complaint about visiting Europe, and this is a very vague complaint...is that many of European cities look like this. For example, this scene here, it could very well be a city shot from Prague, from Paris, from Barcelona, from Switzerland, Warsaw...it goes on and on. Not that I dont' like it, i do...its just...many cities have this 'look' throughout Europe. That's my North American side coming out :) I wonder if you agree or not...it still looks very pretty and photogenic. cheers

This skyline of the city is very beautiful, with the foreground of the unevenness of the well-wooded terrain, behind the harmony of the facades in pastel tones and the spiers of the towers looming behind the roofs.
Excellent POV, with very good lighting, color and sharpness to enjoy the details.
