Photographer's Note

A stormy late evening photo of Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) in Florence, as seen from Ponte Santa Trinita. It had rained off and on all day.

I know this bridge has been posted a zillion times here on Trekearth, so why not make it a zillion and one. For this photo I opted for a wider angle since the persistent breeze wasn't making it easy to get a good close up reflection. You can see that the reflections in the rippled part of the water bend to the left. This isn't camera distortion. That is just how it looked.

My favorite details in this photo are those two clam shaped windows underneath the bell tower on the right. I made sure to include them in the composition.

Just for fun I have included another 'blue hour' shot I took of Ponte Vecchio back in 2003 using my old film camera. You can see it here in the workshop.
