Hello Janos,
It has been a while... Happy New Year.
I really like this photo, it almost seems as if it is a black and white image... Is it? I do agree with you that it is a very moody and nostalgic shot. It reminds me of photographs from the 1920's that I have seen from Italy. You have captured the feeling of actually being there in this time frame.

Incredible Venice.
Incredible approach to capture that.
Canaletto in duo-tone(?).
Quite unusual is the way you decided to photograph the splendor of that city.
Great respect for that.
Yet...The entire bottom of that photo is definitively to dark.
A touch of 'brightness' filter in PP, will create a pure masterpiece.
Still, quite amazing...

Hi Janos,
The great German physicist, Werner Heisenberg, once wrote, "Never underestimat how much pleasure it gives a man to see/hear what he already knows." So it is with me and Venice. I know this area very well, and cannot get enough of it. Your (almost) twenty year old slide, scanned and cropped to panoramic proportions, presents the Sciavoni beautifully. The B&W is ideal for the light conditions.
