Photographer's Note
The weather was bad and the light was sad. I was walking in Roma, balance between the happiness of being there and the sadness for having such conditions...
Therefore, it was hard to find the inspiration.
I entered a small place. It was the end of the market. I saw him.
He was powerful, he was mysterious, he was dark, he was... fascinating.

Woaw!

bravo

Hi Stephane,
The feeling you present here is astounding. Shall it be mystery, shall it be a fading clamour from the past? It recalls the tremendous inquisition of the real past as well as the horrible ring bearers of LoTR (lol). Such an effective background color and composition of the subject. Rome is actually something like that. The whole city bears the same feeling. TFS,

The overcast sky was perfect for the mood you wanted to create with this menacing-looking statue. Good idea to compose it off-centre.

Hi Stephane,
an interesting monument and good composition, enigmatic face in dark, pity that light wasn't friendly. Good job.

Superbe!

Cette statue attise les passions, mais la flamme est si lourde, son reflet s’est noyé au fond de vos pupilles, aussi ternes que les miennes ;

Hello Stephane
I love the tones you give to these photographs which makes them mystical and moody. Yes the sense of power & darkness seems to come right out of him, from beneath the shroud. Well frame, composed & taken

Hello Stephan,

Hi Stephane,
Brooding and threatening; he resembles one of the characters from the Da Vinci Code...This low angle perspective increases the impact and makes one shiver. And I thought gargoyles were scary. Well captured, with good depth. All the best of the holiday season, Stephane. I wish you peace, joy, and serenity.

Hello Stephane,
I am very happy to see this excellent photo of the statue of Giordano Bruno, I believe at Campo Fiero. Giordano Bruno was a heretic monk who argued on behalf of Copernican ideas of a sun-centered (heliocentric) universe, and in 1600 was burned at the stake at the very spot where this statue stands.
I am a professor of physics in Ameica. I would love to show this photo in my PowerPoint presentations. Could you send me a high resolution copy to my email address, [email protected] I would be grateful and give you credit.
Warm regards from Virginia, (and thanks for the review of my photo of the statuess of Botero),
Bulent
