Waterfall of the Fosso di Castel Rinaldi
Near the town of Castel Rinaldi, the Fosso bearing the same name, in a stretch adjacent to the road, leaps about ten meters to create a waterfall of remarkable beauty.
The jump of the river ends in an almost circular lake with particularly clear and crystalline waters.
The microclimate that is produced in the narrow bottleneck favors a remarkable biodiversity consisting of mosses of various species and ferns; in fact, in addition to the river waters, there are numerous small springs that exude from the surrounding rocks which create the ideal environment for the growth of particular mosses.
The watercourse that has suffered a depletion of its water flow due to the numerous wells that have been built in the district, in the past had a much more consistent water flow and was a source of energy for a grain mill that exploited the his energy.
Now the mill no longer exists, the ivy-covered ruin is barely visible.

Hello Silvio,
There was not much water in this waterfall at the moment, but the steep rocks covered with moss and the small pool create an atmosphere of a secret cave in a fairytale forest. The atmosphere is enhanced by the spots of sunlight.

A pleasant place to wile away an hour or two on a hot summer's day. I use to take a small gas stove and plastic cup and spoon with a coffee or tea bag to such places here in Australia. Good sharpness and dappled light. Tfs!

A great photo of the small lake and the waterfalls, which you show here with a very nice play of light in this rather dark spot. The surrounding rock formations are wonderful and nicely covered in green.

Shadows cast over this corner, Silvio, but still had good light to show the beautiful waterfall, now dry - but winter is around the corner and it will be fully cascade.

Hello Silvio,
I must admit that this is really creepy small waterfall with the overgrowth green mosses. And that's making it even more astonishing. I do like the ferns cascading as if they're mimicking 'waterfall'.
Wow! when I opened the link , this place looks amazing in the winter , the photos shown.
