Photographer's Note

To the left of the square stands the beautiful bell tower of the Church of San Donato, a former parish church. It has a quadrangular plan with three orders built with tuffaceous material. The church dates back to the year one thousand, is currently in a state of ruin, there remains, as evidence of its noble past, on the right side, a portal, today lateral, but once main, in basaltic stone dating back to the 12th century, with a sixth whole with shaped ashlars and worked with a deep torus and wide and rich jambs with denticles and diamond points. During the 18th century, the church underwent a profound transformation as its original axis was rotated by ninety degrees and the interior was transformed into three neoclassical style naves.
