Photographer's Note

The town of Sirmione on the southern edge of Lake Garda.
A view towards the castle, Sirmione Castle or Scaligero, a fortress from the Scaliger era.

"A rare example of medieval port fortification.
Building started in 1277. It presents the typical Ghibelline swallowtail merlons and the curtain walls, (with three corner towers) in pebbles alternating with two horizontal bands of brick courses.
The castle stands at a strategic place at the entrance to the peninsula. Surrounded by a moat, it can only be entered by two draw bridges."

I have given you this information as I have added two extra pictures of the castle in the workshop.

Thank you for looking.
