Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

From Rome, this excellent sculpture is situated at the foot of the Column of Immaculate Conception. It's amazing what wonderful sculptures are on public view!

The column was dedicated on 8 December 1857; atop the column is a bronze statue of the Virgin Mary, (the work of Giuseppe Obici), whilst at the base are four statues of Hebrew figures that gave portent of the virgin birth, each accompanied by a quote of a biblical verse in Latin.

My photograph shows one of the Hebrew figures in close-up.
If you look at my workshops, you will be able to see the whole column and its location.

Thank you for your interest, Bev :-)
