Alpe di Poschiavina - Valmalenco - Sondrio
It is located on the right of the artificial lake of Gera, taking the path that climbs up to 2230. The small mountain pasture, a few houses and a lovely little chapel, is still intact and is still used in the summer, there are four people dedicated to livestock. It strikes the bucolic aspect of the plain, a mountain pasture that has not yet been abandoned, even if the lively life that animated it until a few decades ago belongs to the past. The alp is called, dialectally, "la val", ie the valley par excellence. Until a few decades ago families almost entirely from the districts of Vetto and Tornadri di Lanzada, used about forty huts, called by the nickname of the family. Today only some of the huts are used during the summer. The valley, due to its narrow form and the play of the currents, is more subject to sudden precipitation than to other malenche valleys; this is why they say that when you go looking for some beast inside the valley, even with the sun, it is good to always carry an umbrella.
