Photographer's Note
La "Lapidazione di Santo Stefano" è l'unica opera pittorica fatta da Giorgio Vasari e conservata a Pisa, esattamente nella chiesa di Santo Stefano dei Cavalieri.
Si tratta di una pala d'altare di notevoli dimensioni (cm 410x275), al momento si trova di lato all'altare per essere osservata meglio dopo il restauro, ma tra non molto verrà posizionata nel luogo originale.
La qualità della foto non è eccelsa, la luce era difficile, però mi faceva piacere mostrarla.

Ciao Carlo,in effetti la qualita' della foto non è un gran ed è un peccato,opere come queste meritano una definizione migliore che in casi come questi è essenziale. La prossima volta trova un appoggio mobile,anche la testa della moglie va bene (queste sono le mie tecniche...ehhee),comunque l'opera è magnifica e mi piace anche la prospettiva originale e curiosa. Looks like a wardrobe malfunction occurred, lol. This looks like the artist's interpretation of the adulteress about to be stoned to death where Jesus says let he amongst you who is without sin cast the first stone. I might have added just a tiny bit more sharpness. But well framed & composed with a nice soft, diffused light. Tfs!

Hello Carlo,
There is a slight lack of sharpness for the reasons you have noted but it does not spoil our overall enjoyment of the composition. I like the soft lights and colours. An image well worth posting in my opinion.

Ce genre de tableaux, on en voit beaucoup en Italie. Il raconte une histoire et il y a plusieurs choses à admirer dans ce cadre suspendu devant l'autel.

Ciao Carlo, Beautiful presentation of this Vasari masterpiece. I had no idea that Santo Stefano was martyred like this. Not so bad photo in difficult conditions. Thanks for sharing.
