altra bella vista del grande vulcano che appare in tutta la sua imponenza grazie anche al giusto inserimento della figura umana che riesce a magnificarne la grandiosità.
Ottima non solo la composizione ma soprattutto i colori che evidenziano tutte le gradazioni che la lava riesce ad assumere con il succedersi delle eruzioni.

J'aime beaucoup les différents plans de couleurs qui forment une sorte de tableau.
Peut-être qu'en tamponnant le randonneur en bas à gauche la photo aurait été encore meilleure.

Hello Jean,
The hills have very attractive shapes and colours, changing gradually from the foreground and along the view.The trekker plays a great role for the perception of the view and adds a sign of life to this sterile looking environment.

Good picture of Mt. Etna showing us the differentiation of texture of the hills due to lava flow, solidified. The different natural colors on the mountain creates attention. The lone trekker adds life to this picture.

Les paysages volcaniques offrent souvent un véritable festival de couleurs, et c'est le cas ici ! Image bien composée, les différents plans qui se succèdent apportent de la profondeur à l'image. J'aime bien en particulier ce premier plan de lave noire. Les couleurs sont très belles et l'exposition bien gérée. J'aurais éliminé (de la photo bien sûr !) le personnage, trop décalé ici pour faire vraiment partie de la composition.

Hi Jean,
Colours of that almost lifeless landscape are truely special. Good framing where the darker lava fields makes a diagonal from lower left corner. I have also made a day trip to Etna, but it was covered in clouds then.

Une magnifique image de l'Etna sous cette lumière.Bel accord de couleurs entre les teintes du second plan de l'image et le bleu de ce ciel.Le bon observateur de cette image remarquera également que le personnage placé à gauche en bas du cadre donne la bonne touche de vie à cette réalisation.La couleur carbone au premier plan apporte la bonne touche de contraste.

Hello Jean,
Full size, this is an eye-grabbing photograph, where the overlapping slopes give an amazing sense of depth by their changing hues. The f/g slope explains the textures and the inclusion of a tiny figure supplies the scale.
It's like something from another world!

Un paysage lunaire avec totalement différentes couleurs des pierres. Le ciel bleu ajoute encore une couleur supplémentaire à l'image.
Le promeneur donne une bonne indication de l'échelle.

L'étendue de l'endroit donne de la profondeur à l'image. La prise de vue permet de voir les effets de la lave et les détails de la montagne. La bonne luminosité fait ressortir la beauté des couleurs. Bonne soirée.

Hello Jean - The subtle contrast of textures and colours make this volcanic landscape fascinating to see. The grasses begin to cover the slopes and illustrate the resilient determination of plant life. Like the desert this shot shows that life occurs in the most inhospitable looking places.
An interesting and well managed shot.

what a difference it makes to have the person in the lower left corner, i like that alot.
and i also like all the angular lines and geometry thats going on here.
we don't often see this color in many photos, another unique aspect of the scene.

The man climbing on side gave excelent scale to appreciate the huge size of the Etna on photo.
Red, black and brown cooled-Lava landscape, no trees growing on, but a marvelous sight.

I think the red derives from weathered basalt. It makes a very fertile soil. But obviously no farmer in their right mind would plant crops on an active volcano. The black lava is more geologically recent and hasn't yet weathered. Good sharpness and nice warm cold color contrasts. Tfs!

Through your Sicilian Journey, I am becoming nostalgic for Italia. The addition here of the lone person walking certainly gives us a sense of scale and the idea of loneliness and desolation. I last climbed Mongibeddu in 2010, and I love this place. The colours, sharpness and Rule of Thirds framing are impeccable. Congratulations.

Bonjour Jean,
Superbe image, les quelques brins de végétation contrastent de belle manière avec la pouzzolane rouge et noire du volcan. Le dépaysement est total. Peut-être aurais-tu pu attendre que le marcheur sorte du cadre, ou soit placé à un meilleur endroit.
