Photographer's Note
Colosseum in Rome, Italy. Unforgettable feeling standing in such a fabled place in world history. Taken the Saturday before Easter in 1997. The entire place was set-up for an Easter Mass by the Pope so I could only get this shot without scaffolding, speakers and other public address infrastructure marring the view. I liked the way the shadows played on the structure, tried to include the group of tourists in the lower right hand corner for a sense of scale. No post processing.
