Photographer's Note
After having sailed to Galway with "La Recouvrance", and before flying back to France, I took a few (too few) days to visit Ireland by land. I guess I did the grand touristic tour (and was really happy with it). Here, I went to see the famous Cliff of Moher, rising more than 200m above the see and forming an 8km-long wall in West County Clare.
There are already plenty of pictures of the Cliff of Moher in TE, so I propose you a different view. This picture was taken from the town of Doolin, at the foot of the cliff, where people can take the ferry to go to the Aran Island. There was quite a fierce storm, and while looking at the magnificent landscape, I couldn't help wondering about "La Recouvrance", who had left Galway the day before to sail back to Cork, and was probably not having a lot of fun (they finally made it safely!).

Bien amicalement.

Great feeling of the storm, Sophie - I wouldn't want to be out in that!
Added a workshop to darken the skey a bit.

Merci,
Pascal

WOW...a great photo you have here Sophie...Amazing framing and the contrast between the dark rocks on the foreground and the rest of the photo is really great! It gives perfectly the "stormy" feeling and those waves are really impressive!

Pemier plan remarquable.
Bravo pour cette mer déchainée.

This certainly is a different view of the cliffs. The stormy weather adds greatly to the picture. This area, near Doolin, is very dangerous and hardly a year goes by without somebody being swept off the rocks to their death. I have been there many times and it is very easy to be tempted to tease the sea at that location. As we know the sea should not be teased! Well done again Sophie. Transparency captures so much more than digital.

Very interesting alternate view of the Cliffs. The rocks in the foreground add a nice bit of sharpness to the rest of the picture.

What an amazing view of the forces of nature. The atmosphere is dramatic and scary. And it's amazing you got such fine colors with that grey sky. Thanks for showing this excellent photo!

Super

This is fantastic Sophie, I am mostly Irish (born in England of Irish parents and 100% Irish ancestery), and love the country and its people, even the much maligned weather which is actually a landscape photographer's dream. So much mood, power, and sheer exhileration in this photo. You clearly have a love for the sea even when on dry land, and it's great that photography allows you to share that empathy in a way which is different to your sailing. Ian

I can feel the power of the sea in this photo. I was at sea for many years and you have captured it's great power in this photo. The Cliff is a nice backdrop to the rageing sea.

bonjour sophie
